Location
AmeriCommerce is powered by an enterprise-class network located in the Internap data center in Houston, Texas. The facility is a major peering point, where all of the major network backbones meet to allow traffic to flow between their connections. Using Internap's patented PNAP technology, AmeriCommerce web sites are routed using the fastest possible path to the site visitors for every page viewed.
Security
The data center is manned and monitored 24/7, 365. Armed guards, biometric security, total-coverage IP-based security cameras, and individually keyed cabinets outfit the facility located in Houston's downtown area for the ultimate in protection.
Hardware
All AmeriCommerce web servers are all Dell PowerEdge XEON dual processor servers with mirrored RAID array hard drives and redundant power supplies with 2 or 4 GB of RAM.
Database servers are multi-processor, multi-core Dell PowerEdge XEON servers with mirrored RAID array hard drives and redundant power supplies with 4 or 8 GB of RAM.
Higher volume sites running on load-balanced web farms of Dell PowerEdge XEON dual processor servers.
All servers run on Windows Server 2003 and database servers run SQL Server 2005, all connected via Gigabit networking. We use several layers of Cisco firewalls to protect each tier of the applications. Multiple layers of encryption protect all of our customer data.
Redundant Power
All AmeriCommerce servers have dual power supplies, each fed from separate circuits. The data center has multiple layers of redundant high capacity power feeds, with banks of UPS systems supported by automatic transfer switches to multiple diesel generators with guaranteed fuel contracts.
Bandwidth
In addition to the patented P-NAP technology developed by Internap, the primary data center is a carrier hotel. Within the data center we have multi-Gigabit access points to more than 10 global networks for the ultimate in bandwidth, speed, and redundancy.
Monitoring
The AmeriCommerce servers are all monitored 24/7 using several network, server, and application health systems, such as Microsoft Operation Manager 2005 (MOM) and other internal monitoring applications. Tools, such as MOM, keep AmeriCommerce support team in the know about every aspect of the hosting environment, including hardware health, operating system and application issues, response time, capacity planning, and more.
Backups
SQL Data is backed up hourly, and all files are backed up daily to tape using Veritas Backup Exec and Dell PowerVault tape libraries.
